Five Points Bakery opened its doors over nine years ago on Buffalo’s lower west side. We were looking to make whole grain bread using wheat sourced only from local farms. This expanded into honey, milk, eggs and a host of other local goods, but there was always something more. It was never truly about local, it was about doing good.
Everything deserves respect, from farmers to people, buildings, neighborhoods and ways of life. Nothing means more to us at Five Points than creating that space in which we can all find that something that is calling to us. It can be as simple as a piece of toast, someone who knows their local farmer, a clay wall, or someplace warm that is always welcoming to you. We are always expanding and changing; at one time it may be about local but the next we delve deeper and see that it has been about so much more. It has been about growing as people as a business and a part of this community.
